Evenes

What to do in Evenes ?

Front door to a Nordic world.

• Go for a Fishing, « Sea rafting and Eagle Safari » and observe these predator birds dive, slide on the water and get their prey. A unique moment !
• At night, the clear sky will let you see your first Northern Light ! This is called « Northern light hunting ». You can never be sure to see some, this is why they are so extraordinary !

From Evenes to Svolvær :

• Discover very different landscapes : impressive rocky peaks, old authentic fishermen’s cabins (called rorbuer). You will be amazed by the multitude of colors : red houses, blue, pink white … Just enjoy.

Svolvær

What to do in Svolvær ?

 Lofoten islands’ « Capital ».

• Get back to the city for a little bit before heading to the Western Islands.
• Need some silence ? Feel like being alone ? Going kayaking on the translucent sea.
• For an authentic local experience, join a team of fishermen on a 4 hour fishing trip : fish your own fish and cook it for dinner ! A memorable moment !

From Svolvær to Reine :

• Near Svolvær, go to Henningsvaer, at the end of the peninsula. Discover this lovely village to which you can get by taking a bridge. The road to get there is rally stunning.
• Carry on until you reach Nusfjord, a UNESCO-listed village : mainly for its rorbuer, Norway’s oldest. Once again you will enjoy the drive and its gorgeous sceneries !
• If you love photography, stop at Ramberg beach : an outstanding landscape !
• Right before getting to Reine, discover the village of Hamnoy, a really gorgeous place.

Reine

What to do in Reine ?

Paradise on arctic land. 

• Explore this fishermen’s village and its red houses overlooking the tranlucent Arctic Ocean.
• Live a unique moment : the midnight sun. During the winter, the sun never fully sets. Astonishing !
• The sky above Reine is not faded with light pollution, it’s clear and intense :  a good chance to see Northern Light.
• After exploring the village, go warm up un a lovely tea shop, always warm and welcoming.
• Just enjoy the silence.

Harstad

What to do in Harstad ?

Northern cultural capital.

• If you like food related experiences, Harstad is « THE place to be ». Discover the city’s rich culinary culture.
• Get your gym shoes on and hike up the mountain tops surrounding the city.
• Nautical activity lovers, you will love this place : take part in a Whale Safari, dive in the Norwegian Sea or explore the nearby archipelagos on a kayak.
• Just like in any city in the Arts circle, go Northern Light hunting and get to experience the midnight sun. Two astonishing experiences !
