What to do in Glasgow ?

Glasgow, the most populated city in Scotland is famous for being dynamic and welcoming. A cultural rich city that you will love !

• Visit Glasgow University, on top of a hill. Be quiet, people are studying !
• Go up to the Necropolis. It can seem creepy but taking a long and calm walk through the graves while enjoying the panoramic view will be an exceptional experience !
• Eat the famous fish and chips in Bath Street.
• Feel like James Bond and go for a « Power Boat » ride on the Clyde river.
• Step in the city’s Cathedral, an impressive and beautiful building !
• Discover a medieval historic house : Provand’s Lordship.
• Architecture lovers, you probably already know about Charles Rennie Mackintosh, a famous Scottish Art Nouveau architect.  Explore the Mackintosh House. This house will amaze you !

 

To continue your visit of Glasgow :

• Stroll through the Botanic Gardens and Kibble Palace admire different plants and relax in this gorgeous flowery garden.
• In the heart of Glasgow, take a break and have a snack at The Willow Tea Room.
• Walk in the city streets and take pictures of the typically Scottish facades ans street art.
• If you like vintage and old objects, go to Riverside Museum of Transport and Travel where many vintage vehicles are displayed.

What to do in Drymen ?

Hidden in the hills, you will find the popular city of Drymen.

• Go for a bike ride on the city bike path along Loch Lomond and get to feel the local atmosphere.
• Have a pic-nic by Loch Lomond and go for walk in his national park where you can then enjoy one of the many activities it offers like kayaking or jet skiing.

What to do in Rowardennan ?

Before getting to Rowardennan, go up the Top of Conic Hill (361m / 1185 ft) where you will get a view of the Loch and the Ben Lomond. If you have time, walk along the lake and enjoy the stunning landscapes.

Rowardennan is a small secluded hamlet on Loch Lomond where you will discover beautiful natural surprises.

What to do in Inverarnan ?

On the way to Inverarnan, the hikes will get difficult. You will be hiking along Loch Lomond but in the wood or on winding trails this time.

You will get to Inverarnan after several hours of hiking. This village is at the top of Loch Lomond

• Explore the waterfalls of Falloch, absolutely stunning.
• Nearby, visit farms and villages.
• Hike through the surroundings valleys and maybe you will get to see wild deers !

What to do in Tyndrum ?

Before getting to Tyndrum, sur le chemin, visit St. Finian’s Church and discover an old lead mine on your way.

You hike will end in Tyndrum (for today !). A small town in the middle of the Scottish land, you will fall for its tranquility.

What to do in Achallader ?

Before getting to Achallader, you will cross the Bridge of Orchy to get to the Rannoch Moor. 

Very small village, Achallader will be perfect for you to relax. 

• Visit Achallader Castle (or what is left of it !).
• Admire the Black Mount.
• Fish for you own salmon in Loch Tulla.

What to do in Kinlochleven ?

Located in an idyllic setting at the bottom of the mountains, Kinlochleven is very popular in the winter. 

• Learn how to ice climbing indoors at the Ice Factor. Big thrills !

What to do in Fort William ?

Last effort in the mountains in the area of Lairig Mohr before getting to Fort William.

Fort William is a popular destination with many outdoors activities.

• Go for a nice hike surrounded by nature up to Steall Falls, a gorgeous waterfall.
• Another hike : climb up to the top of Ben Nevis and get to see a stunning view over the surroundings. If you are not that much of a hiker, you can get there by cable car too with Nevis Range Mountain Experience.
• At the top of Ben Nevis, you can also go rock climbing with the specialised guides of West Coast Mountain Guides.
• You love the Scottish culture ? Head to West Highland Museum and learn much more about the local culture.
• Enjoy a walk on Neptune’s Staircase.
• Visit the Treasures of the Earth museum where you can see beautiful rocks and crystals.
